Gold-digging is a full-time job for some women. They believe they can’t succeed on their own and have decided to leech off men for financial support. Traditionally, men are expected to cater to their women. That’s all good if the relationship or engagement is genuine, but if she’s only after your money, it’s only fair that you are aware of her intentions.
Here are signs that she’s a gold digger.
1. Overly Curious About Your Financial Status
If she always wants to know how much you have, whether in your bank account or in your pocket, that girl doesn’t love you. She’s only after what she can get, so she needs to know whether or not you are financially loaded.
To obtain this information, she asks you questions about your account balance. She wants to know whether her future with you is secure. If there’s no money, why would she stay around? She would move on to the next man who has the money she needs.
Don’t mistake her interest in your finances for care. She doesn’t care about you at all. If you have no money to offer her, she will be gone in a heartbeat.
2. Obsessed With Social Status
She’s all about keeping up with the Joneses, okay. She wants people to believe that she belongs to the high class. She doesn’t want to associate with the lower class because, to her, they have nothing to offer.
If she’s always asking you about your rich or famous friends, and wants you guys to hang out with them, that’s a big sign she’s gold-digging. A gold digger believes that everybody at the top is her ticket to the kind of life she desires, and she always wants to associate with them.
Her mission is to get into rooms where she can connect with the upper class and latch onto someone even wealthier for benefits.
There’s nothing wrong with being ambitious. There’s nothing wrong with striving to grow and become a better person. But that’s all that matters to a gold digger. When she climbs up and sees that you’re no longer useful to her, guess what? She’ll discard you.
3. Always Asking You for Money
There’s nothing wrong with a woman asking her man for money. If you guys are together and you love and care about her, you would naturally want to give her things even without her asking.
But if all she does is ask you for money, that’s a huge red flag. You guys aren’t even married to begin with, so you aren’t legally responsible for her. She has parents. She has a family, and if she can’t afford the things she needs, her family should be her first point of call.
If you give her money and, instead of being appreciative of what you’ve given her, she complains that it isn’t enough, that you aren’t doing enough for her. Any girl in her right mind would be appreciative, even if you give her so little.
4. Wants to Be Friends With Only the Rich and Famous
A gold digger feels that she’s all that. She believes people who aren’t up to her in terms of class or status are beneath her. She only wants to associate with the rich and famous because she feels they are the people who can give her the kind of life she aspires to.
5. Only Appreciates the Most Expensive Gifts
You went out of your way to get her a gift, and instead of appreciating the gesture, she’s complaining that it’s not expensive, that it’s so cheap. Who does that?
Gold diggers only have eyes for the finer things in life. If it isn’t the most expensive, she won’t like it.
Gold diggers are used to being taken care of and being spent on, and they never, ever want to pay for anything. If she never makes a move to pay for anything when you guys are together, or even to get you something, even the smallest of presents, there’s no doubt. She’s a gold digger.
