Filmmaker Tyler Perry has been taken to court over alleged sexual assault by Mario Rodriguez, an actor who acted in “Boo! A Madea Halloween,” a movie released in 2016.
According to reports, Rodriguez accused Perry of assaulting him severally in his home, over a period of time, in the Los Angeles Superior Court lawsuit.
Highlighting one of the alleged assaults, Rodriguez stated that Perry touched him inappropriately, grabbing his penis and hugging him tightly in 2018.
The lawsuit consists of sexual assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and sexual battery.
Rodriguez has also made a case against the distributor of “Boo! A Madea Halloween,” Lionsgate, claiming that they overlooked Terry’s alleged misconduct. He also highlighted an incident where Perry allegedly touched his inner thighs, telling him that it was okay.
According to Rodriguez, he and Perry were in contact until 2019, after which Perry occasionally reached out to him.
Perry’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, reportedly stated that the lawsuit was a “failed money grab.”
Rodriguez’s lawyer, Jonathan Delshad, stated that Perry was using his influence to sexually assault hopeful actors and that his client was looking forward to having his day in court. He also alleged that Perry reached out to his client upon hearing that he was going to be sued.
