When you fantasized about having your prince charming coming into your life and making you whole, one who would treat you like a lady was all you could think of. How badly you wanted a man who would love you, but you never imagined that you would have to give up the respect that you deserve, in exchange for his love. And no, you weren’t having too many expectations. Who says a man cannot love and respect you at the same time? The signs of a disrespectful man may not be boldly written on his forehead, but there are red flags to look out for.
This might seem like a harmless behavioural pattern, but that’s how it starts. He doesn’t have to be out-rightly disrespectful, but exhibit little acts of nonchalance. You are talking to him, but he doesn’t want to hear you out. Why? Whatever it is you have to say isn’t important to him. He’d rather have you shut up and listen to him instead.
• He makes demands without courtesy
So you two are an item - there’s nothing wrong with him asking you to help him out with things. Well, that’d be okay if he asked nicely and not order you around like a maid. He goes like “I need you to do my laundry,” I’m hungry, I want you to fix something for me” and so on. Did you notice that the magical word “please” is missing?
• He’s imposing
In the books of a disrespectful man, a woman doesn’t have much say; he wants her to do everything he says. In his mind, you don’t even know what is good for you, so he wants to show you what is good for you. He gives you directions of things to do and how to do them. And when you try to make him understand that you have a say, he throws tantrums like an over-pampered kid.
• He’s insulting
Now, this is on another level. Name-calling sounds like a thing peculiar to kids, but you’d be surprised that a grown man insults women at the slightest provocation. And guess what? He sees nothing wrong with it… talk about being tacky. You won’t take that, would you?
• He’s proud
Pride is one of the things that make a man disrespectful to women. Take a look at this. He has a huge ego, one he always wants to protect. For that to happen, he’d always to have his way. Anything contrary to what he wants spells trouble. He’d protect his ego even if it means disrespecting you.
No man can tolerate a disrespectful woman, but they don’t realize that they are guilty of the same thing. For a couple to have a successful relationship, there has to be mutual respect. When you observe these signs that a Man is disrespectful to Women, it’s better to save yourself the troubles of an abusive relationship; it’s not worth it.
