The three year contract which EME signed with the rapper in 2010 expired recently and the record label didn't renew it because according to them, it wasn't profitable.
Skales was signed unto the label as a rapper but changed to a Singer doing pop music because he wanted to be like his label mate, Wizkid and that didn't go down well with the label executives.
Singer and record label executive Banky W confirmed Skales' exit saying " Yes it's true."
A close source had this to say: '‘EME signed Skales as a rapper back then with Wizkid; the plan was to mould him into one of the biggest HipHop acts in Nigeria, you know something like a younger M.I.’'
