COVID-19 Pandemic: Nigeria receives Russia's controversial vaccine

Good news, guys! The war against the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria is showing positive results as Nigeria took delivery of the controversial Russia's COVID-19 vaccine on Friday September 4, 2020.

The delivery of the vaccine was made by the Russian Ambassador to Nigeria  Alexey Shebarshin to Nigeria's Minister of Health Osagie Ehanire as he visited the health ministry in the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.

The Minister appreciated the Ambassador for the provision of the vaccine samples but stated that they would be examined by the Nigeria Institute of Pharmaceutical Research and Development (NIPRD) and the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).

This is happening as the Federal Government of the Federation has eased lockdown across the country, moving it from the initial 10 pm to 12 midnight.
